Sara is an emergency management and nonprofit professional with experience in healthcare, disaster response, and community-focused organizations. Originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Sara holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Development from Dalhousie University and an Advanced Diploma in Emergency Management from Nova Scotia Community College.
Their experience includes supporting emergency preparedness with Nova Scotia Health and working with The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services team. Since 2023, Sara has continued working in the nonprofit sector, with a particular interest in supporting marginalized and vulnerable communities, emergency evacuation planning, and occupational health and safety.
Sara brings a community-focused perspective to emergency management and is passionate about developing practical approaches that help organizations and communities prepare for and respond to emergencies.
